I've been photographing the Mendocino Headlands from this spot for years, and am always careful, but mother nature don't give a shit about your careful... and she's very, very patient - I was about 5feet from a 60ft drop down a rocky cliff into the churning surf when this wave hit me - I was braced, so I was fine - just drenched and a little embarrased -, but a reminder, if I'd been a bit off-balance, or walking away... bad scene
